Dear Parents of Kindergarten through 5th grade Students;
St. Monica Elementary Faith Formation Program offers religious instruction for children in grades kindergarten through fifth. Classes meet once a week for one hour at the following times: 1) Tuesday 3:30-4:30 PM, 2) Wednesday 2:15-3:15 PM, 3) Wednesday 3:45-4:45 PM or 4) Thursday 5:30-6:30 PM. Classes include prayer, faith based lessons, stories, games, music, crafts, and all kinds of activities to help children learn about our Catholic faith and how to live it out in their daily life. Faith Formation Classes begin the week of Sept. 20, 2009. The complete schedule of meeting dates and times are listed on the calendar attached.
Our Registration forms are now available on-line or in the entrances of the Church. We encourage you to register your child early so that we can plan accordingly and insure the best day and time for your child. As an incentive, we offer a discount on registration fees for those who register before August 17. The fee is $125 per student or $300 for three or more students (Grades K-8). After August 17, the fee is $145 per student or $350 for three or more. We do not want any child denied Faith Formation because the fees for participation impose a burden on the family. Please contact the Faith Formation Office regarding this matter.
Sacramental Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion - Children must be enrolled in a faith formation program for at least one year before beginning the preparation process. All children preparing for First Reconciliation and First Communion must include a copy of their Baptismal Certificate with the registration form and an additional $80 Sacramental Preparation Fee.
Please fill out the registration form, the placement request/volunteer form, and the Diocese of Oakland parental permission and health form and mail, with your check payable to St. Monica Faith Formation, to: St. Monica Catholic Church, 1001 Camino Pablo, Moraga, CA 94556.
Our St. Monica Faith Formation program is completely dependent on our volunteer catechists who are willing to share their faith and talents with our children. Please consider teaching or team teaching a class. We provide training and ongoing support. You receive free tuition and advanced placement for your child(ren), and we offer free childcare for younger children while you are teaching. If teaching is not a possibility, please consider the other needs listed on the volunteer form. We request that every family help in some capacity.
If you have any questions regarding the program, you are welcome to call me. I wish you a happy and relaxing summer with your family.
Peace and blessings,
Susan Gindy,
