Children's Faith Formation - Links for Parents
Faith Formation - 2008-2009 Dear Parents of Kindergarten through 5th grade students; This year the elementary Faith Formation Program at St. Monica will not only offer religous instruction for children in grades first through fifh but also we are starting a Kindergarten program. The Kindergarten classes will be scheduled the same time as the first through fifth classes. All classes meet once a week for one hour at the following times: 1) Tuesday 3:30-4:30 PM, 2) Wednesday 2:15-3:15 PM, 3) Wednesday 3:45-4:45 PM or 4) Thursday 5:30-6:30 PM. Classes include prayer, faith based lessons, stories, games, music, crafts, and all kinds of activites to help children learn about our Catholic faith and how to live it out in their daily life. Faith Formation Classes begin the week of Sept. 28, 2008. The registration form for 2008-2009 is available on-line (see above). We encourage you to register your child early so that we can plan accordingly and ensure the best day and time for your child. As an incentive, we offer a discount on registration fees for those who register before Aug. 15th. The fee is $125 per student or $300 for three or more students (Grades K-8). After Aug. 15th the fee is $145 per student or $325 for three or more. We do not want any child denied Faith Formation because the fees for participation impose a burden on the family. Please contact the Faith Formation Office regarding this matter. Please fill out the registration form and the placement request/volunteer form, and mail, with your check payable to St. Monica Faith Formation, to: St. Monica Catholic Church, 1001 Camino Pablo, Moraga, CA 94556. All children preparing for First Reconciliation and First Communion must include a copy of their Baptismal Certificate with these forms and an additional $80 Sacramental Preparation Fee. Registration Forms without Baptismal Certificates will not be accepted. Children are required to attend two years of faith formation in preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion. The faith formation of our children is only possible if we are willing to share our time to make the program successful. Every family is asked to help in some capacity. Please consider teaching or team teaching a class. We provide training and ongoing support. You receive free tuition and advanced placement for your child(ren), and we offer free childcare for younger children while you are teaching. If teaching is not a possibility please consider the needs listed on the volunteer form. If you have any questions regarding the program, you are welcome to call me. I wish you a happy and relaxing summer with your family. Peace and blessings, Susan Gindy,
